In 1986, following the death of his father, Pete Hendley packed a small carry-on duffel and flew to Europe without a plan or goal in mind. He ended up traveling around the world for two years and in the process came to a new acceptance of what had happened. He took hundreds of rolls of film, many of which he didn’t see for years. Presented here are 124 of them, in both black and white and color, along with prose taken from a memoir he wrote by the same name. Together they present a powerful view of a world marked by both pain and beauty.
